The body of an Agoura man who had been missing for five days was spotted lying beside a lake in eastern Ventura County on Friday by a helicopter pilot hired by the man’s father to find his son.
David Michael Urquidi, 20, of the 6800 block of Poppyview Drive, was reported missing Wednesday by his father. Urquidi, who liked to ride his motorcycle in remote areas, went riding Monday, deputies said.
An aerial search of mountains around Conejo Valley on Wednesday was fruitless, officials said. That same day, the father, whose named was not released, hired a private helicopter to join the search.
As deputies continued their search on Friday, the man’s father joined the pilot on a flight near Lake Eleanor, a small lake near Westlake Village Boulevard, just south of Thousand Oaks.
The men found Urquidi’s motorcycle abandoned near the lake. The pilot later spotted the body lying near the lake’s southeastern shore. The cause of death was not known.
