The Preps : Roundup : Croghan Gets Shutout for Servite, 8-0

Andy Croghan (5-1) pitched a shutout to lead Servite High School to an 8-0 victory over Bishop Montgomery Monday at Servite.
Servite had seven hits. Outfielder Tom Szymanski went 2 for 4 and had four RBIs.
In softball:
Laguna Hills 2, Irvine 0--Margo Melendez (8-4) pitched her sixth shutout of the season, limiting Irvine to five hits, for Laguna Hills (9-5) at home. After Shelly Carey walked, Shelby Kowalcyk hit a two-run home run to left field in the first inning for Laguna Hills.
In golf:
Valencia 204, Diamond Bar 219--Sophomore Chris Tidland shot 1-under-par 36 to lead Valencia in a nonleague match at Alta Vista Country Club. Valencia is 9-0 and has won 28 consecutive dual matches since 1986.
