Democrats and Jesse Jackson

Raspberry’s piece is insolence! Jackson supporters equate not supporting Jackson with racism!
I am a Jewish Democrat. When I lived in Los Angeles, I voted for Tom Bradley when he ran, and I would do it again. My heritage, surviving the Holocaust, precludes me from becoming a racist. Nevertheless, voting for Jackson would be unthinkable for me.
I will not vote for Jackson; he is an anti-Semite as far as I am concerned. That I do not agree with his policies, is secondary; those policies are tainted by racism. I’ll go even further, I’ll do the unthinkable. I will register as a Republican after voting against Jackson in the California primary. I can’t be part of a party that supports a racist in any fashion.
