Asia-Pacific Nations to Discuss Jobs, Poverty

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Asia-Pacific countries will discuss a plan to boost jobs, cut poverty and harness new technologies at a conference of 47 regional nations to be opened by President Suharto of Indonesia today.
The 10-day conference of the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific is expected to adopt a 33-point plan designed to refocus development efforts.
