TODAY ‘Peking Opera Blues’ Hong Kong, 1986, 98 minutes , 10 p.m. An exuberant adventure that will leave you breathless and wanting more. It’s ostensibly about rival generals and revolutionaries chasing an elusive document during politically turbulent times in 1913 China. While the film owes much to history, its “message” is skillfully subsumed in action and comedy. It’s a sheer delight--a must-see of this festival.
RECOMMENDED.
