Wood Perfect Second Time in Row

CHULA VISTA — Dawn Wood, a junior pitcher at Castle Park, tied a national high school softball record when she pitched her second consecutive perfect game, beating Chula Vista, 2-0, Thursday.
Wood, a junior, tied the record set by Burbank’s Debby Day last season, according to the National High School Sports Record Book.
Wood (9-3) beat Montgomery, 11-0, Tuesday. She struck out 15 in the two games. She took a took a no-hitter into the seventh inning a week ago against Southwest before she gave up two hits in a 10-0 Castle Park victory.
