‘Brightness’
Mali, 1986, 105 minutes , 7:45 p.m . One of those films that become legendary among those fortunate enough to have seen it. In the spare story, set in Mali where magic is a given, a son approaching manhood must wrest the magical powers of birthright from his father. Ravishingly beautiful, it is also touching and dryly humorous; one of the great experiences of world cinema. RECOMMENDED.
