Gary J. Peterson has been named to the newly created position of vice president-distribution at Carter Hawley Hale Stores Inc., Los Angeles, effective May 2. Peterson previously was director of distribution and transportation systems at Wal-Mart Stores. Carter Hawley Hale operates 112 stores under the names of the Broadway-Southern California, the Broadway-Southwest, Emporium Capwell, Thalhimers and Weinstock’s.
