A 16-year-old Santa Ana boy died Saturday at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, a day after he was shot in the face while visiting a friend’s home in Gardena.
Latoris Brimson-Hardy of Santa Ana was shot by his friend with a handgun in an apparent accident about 10:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Henry Sweets on South Purche Avenue, officials said.
Police officers questioned the Sweets’ 15-year-old son and released him to his parents’ custody. The gun did not belong to the Sweets, police said.
