A federal court jury found Mick Jagger innocent of copyright infringement Tuesday in White Plains, N.Y., saying the rock star did not steal an unknown reggae musician’s song and turn it into his 1985 hit “Just Another Night.” Fans in the courtroom broke into applause after the verdict, and Jagger said he planned to celebrate by having a beer with his lawyers. “My reputation is really cleared. If you’re well known, people stand up and take shots at you. It’s one of those things in a litigious society,” Jagger told reporters. The six-person civil panel listened to tapes of Jagger’s song and one written in 1979 by Patrick Alley, 36, also named “Just Another Night.”
