The state Transportation Commission has approved construction of a bridge on California 126 west of Castaic Junction.
Bids for the $2.2-million project will be solicited in June. Construction is to begin in late 1988 and last until mid-1990.
Plans call for a new bridge to be built between the existing Castaic Creek bridge and Castaic Junction. The new bridge will be 14 feet wider than the existing structure.
