Camera Platforms International’s loss widened to $816,952, or 21 cents a share, in the first quarter ended March 31 from a loss of $182,899, or 5 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue in the period rose 36% to $149,345 from $109,537 in the year-earlier period.
The Valencia company, which leases camera cars used by directors in filming, attributed the loss to investments made to develop a new ballast product and interest payments on loans made to the company by UST Enterprises, a subsidiary of UST Inc.
