REGAN REDUX

This is to congratulate and thank Robert Scheer, who reviewed Donald Regan’s “For the Record” (Book Review, May 15).
Believe me, I was never so pleased to learn that there are still a few Times reviewers who have the astuteness and the guts to negatively criticize anyone who writes disparagingly about Nancy Reagan. To find the following descriptive words by Scheer which related to Regan’s effort couldn’t have been more like manna from heaven: scurrilous, disingenuous, pompous nonsense, petty turncoat, self-serving, vendetta, mean-spirited, unctuous tone, diatribe, tactless, disloyal, ad hominem smear, obfuscation, superficial, spurious, very dull tome, devoid of principled argument .
Thank you, Mr. Scheer, for your beautiful, entertaining and accurate review.
