Booksellers Convention Opens

The book publishing industry’s biggest event of the year, the 88th annual convention and trade exhibit of the American Booksellers Assn., opens today and continues through Tuesday at the Anaheim Convention Center. Along with exhibitions by hundreds of American and international book and cassette publishers, the event will feature readings, book and author parties and panel discussions.
Among authors who will participate are Natan Sharansky, Lady Bird Johnson, Lynn Redgrave, William Kennedy, Maurice Sendak, Theodor S. Geisel, David Brinkley and Raymond Carver. Full coverage in View Monday.
