A Hawthorne woman has been arrested in the stabbing death of a Glendale man.
Yvonne Hicks, 32, is being held without bail in the jail at the County-USC Medical Center on suspicion of murdering Richard Euston, 57, said Sgt. Dean Durand, spokesman for the Glendale Police Department.
Police said Euston suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack that occurred about 5:30 a.m. Friday on Burchett Street. He died an hour later at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, police said.
Police were first notified by a number of Burchett Street residents who reported a woman screaming, Durand said. When officers arrived, they found Hicks, in blood-soaked clothing, and Euston outside a large apartment building.
Hicks, who was not injured in the attack, was taken to the medical center’s jail for treatment of an unrelated foot injury, Durand said.
Police would not comment on a motive for the attack.
