I would like to point out that Armand Hammer Productions is developing a miniseries for HBO based on the story of a Russian family. We are not yet in the writing stage, and Elena Muravina is not one of the writers as stated. She is currently researching the project with two other people.
Armand Hammer Productions has had a presence in the Soviet Union since the company was formed in 1979. These film and television productions undertaken by our company in the past nine years reflect Dr. Hammer’s commitment to the improvement of relations between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. We are not “getting involved” because “Soviet themes are so hot in the entertainment world.”
