And for Sting fans: He’s booked to play the intimate Wiltern Theatre on July 27. Tickets on sale today through the Chargeline telephone ticket service. . . . . On a related note: Sting’s latest political activity is saving a Brazilian rain forest. The musician took a break from his American tour to sing at the Kennedy Center in Washington with 200 British schoolchildren in “Yanomamo,” a musical that will benefit rain forest conservation groups. Sting became interested in rain forests after traveling across Brazil with Belgian film maker Jean-Pierre Dutilleux. “We flew over a red desert,” the singer said. “The man that I was with had been there 10 years before and said that it had been rain forests. I was really mad.”
