I was surprised at Robert Hilburn’s omission of Prince from his article on the 10 greatest teen-age rock contributors (“What’s (Teen) Age Got To Do With It?,” July 31.) Wasn’t Prince still in his teens when he began writing, producing, playing numerous instruments and singing?

Prince indeed was 18 when he recorded his first album and 19 when his “I Want to Be Your Lover” single went into the Top 40.
