Arabian American Oil Co. of Saudi Arabia has filed a lawsuit claiming that a former employee who now lives in Orange County stole confidential oil field information critical to the nation’s security and then tried to sell it back to the Saudi government. The Orange County Superior Court suit accuses Robert B. Auburn, who moved to Newport Beach after retiring from Aramco last year, of taking computer disks containing information about Saudi oil and gas fields and wells. Aramco attorney C. Randolph Fishburn said Auburn has agreed to return the material and the case should be resolved within five to 10 days.
