Good romance and good music go together, and this weekend’s slim summer TV pickings have a combination of both.
Chuck Woolery, host of the popular syndicated show, “The Love Connection,” highlights the romance part of the equation tonight at 7 on Channel 9’s “The Dating Connection.” This hourlong program checks out today’s dating scene to learn how an estimated 60 million singles of all ages go looking for love.
Showtime pay cable channel supplies music later tonight (at 10) with “Showtime Coast to Coast--Manhattan Island.” This compilation of live performances, filmed in several locations in New York City, features Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon, Pat Metheny, Brazilian star Milton Nascimento and Bobby McFerrin.
And, for a nostalgic musical feel, “Remembering Bing,” tonight at 9:10 on Channel 28, 9:30 p.m. on Channel 50, pays tribute to the musical and film career of the late Bing Crosby.
