Kicker Ali Haji-Sheikh was put on waivers by the Washington Redskins, although he did not miss a conversion or field goal attempt during the exhibition season.
Rookie Chip Lohmiller will do the kicking for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Other notable players released by National Football League teams were kicker Tony Franklin of the New England Patriots, nose tackle Gary Dunn of the Pittsburgh Steelers and punter Greg Coleman of the Minnesota Vikings.
