Next Plane Flying Flight 1141 Forced to Abort Takeoff

DALLAS — A day after a Delta Air Lines jet crashed on takeoff at Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport, killing 13 people, another Delta Boeing 727 with the same flight number and destination aborted its takeoff, an airline spokesman said.
Some of those aboard the airliner were believed to be survivors of Wednesday’s crash of Flight 1141 who were resuming their journey to Salt Lake City.
No one aboard was hurt and the aircraft returned safely to the terminal, spokesman Bill Berry told reporters in Atlanta, where Delta has its corporate headquarters.
Berry said the airliner had reached a speed of no more than 20 to 30 m.p.h. when the flight crew observed they “were not getting standard indications” on engine instruments.
