Belmont 13, Poly 7--Quarterback Francisco Rivera completed 3 of 9 passes for 37 yards, carried the ball 6 times for 34 yards and scored on a 46-yard fumble recovery as Belmont won at Poly.
Poly quarterback Jason Kemp completed 8 of 12 passes for 111 yards, including a 31-yard pass to Eddie Guerrero with 3:41 to play for Poly’s only score.
The Parrot defense held Belmont inside the the 10-yard line twice to force two first-half field goals. Belmont running back Tajh Evans carried the ball 16 times for 84 yards.
