Carter Hawley Hale Stores, long a fixture at its corporate offices in the Bank of California building at 550 S. Flower St. in downtown Los Angeles, will move next summer down the street to 444 S. Flower, where it has signed a $90-million-plus, 23-year sublease on 110,000 square feet of offices on six floors. That space is now occupied by Arco International Oil & Gas, a division of Atlantic Richfield that is moving to Plano, Tex. A Carter Hawley Hale spokesman said the move will enable the merchant to consolidate offices for 225 workers now housed in two locations--the Bank of California building and Broadway Plaza.
