The former chief executive officer of a Connecticut bank pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to one count of obstruction of justice relating to an insider trading investigation. Robert DiGennaro, 40, of Suffield, Conn., a former president of Suffield Savings, admitted to federal Judge David Nelson that he provided false testimony to the SEC in its investigation of illegal insider trading in connection with 1986 merger of Suffield Savings Bank with Coastal Savings Bank of Maine. Nelson scheduled sentencing for Oct. 27, three weeks after DiGennaro is to be sentenced at federal court in New Haven, Conn., for his conviction on three counts relating to the same case.
