Sailor Dies in Car Crash

A Navy man was killed early Sunday when his car went out of control on Interstate 5 south of 28th Street in San Diego and hit a palm tree, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred at about 5:40 a.m. on southbound I-5. The name of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was withheld pending the notification of his relatives by the Navy, according to the coroner’s office.
