Volleyball Roundup : CS Northridge’s CCAA Win Streak Hits 43 Matches

The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team extended its California Collegiate Athletic Assn. winning streak to 43 matches with a 15-6, 15-8, 15-3 victory over Cal State Los Angeles on Tuesday night at Northridge.
Franci Bowman had 8 kills and Keira Middleton added 5 kills to lead the Lady Matadors (12-7).
GIRLS
Notre Dame d. Louisville, 17-19, 15-13, 15-10, 15-9--Setter Dana Marasca had 8 kills and Kim Fischer added 6 kills to lead the Knights to an upset victory at Notre Dame.
It was the first time Notre Dame (3-2, 1-0) had defeated Louisville, the two-time defending San Fernando Valley League champions, in 6 years of league competition, Knights’ Coach Ann McClung said.
Cleveland d. El Camino Real, 15-7, 15-6--Nancy Nicholls had 10 kills and Cheryl Aschenbach added 5 for Cleveland (5-0) in the West Valley League opener.
Agoura d. Santa Paula, 15-1, 15-5, 15-1--Karen Clemens served 8 aces and Margaret Park added 6 aces to lead the Chargers (3-2, 1-0) to a Frontier League victory that lasted only 45 minutes.
Village Christian d. Maranatha 15-9, 15-11, 16-14--Danyelle Weeks had 15 kills and Jana Kovar added 9 aces and 5 blocks for the Crusaders (4-1, 1-0) in their Alpha League opener at Maranatha.
