I just saw the charismatic Sammy Davis Jr. in “Moon Over Parador,” in which he topped himself again with the definitive creative/sensuous interpretation of “Begin the Beguine.” Will someone please persuade the most erotic man God put on Earth to play a romantic lead in a movie? I want to see him get the girl. I don’t think he’s gotten the girl since “Porgy and Bess,” and everyone got the girl in “Porgy and Bess.”
