Local News in Brief : Westminster : Firefighter Charity Soliciations Are Bogus

Telephone solicitations from people claiming to be helping “disabled” Westminster firefighters are being made without the authorization of the Westminster Fire Fighters Assn., an association spokesman said Monday.
The association is not soliciting donations by telephone. Any funds collected will not benefit Westminster firefighters or their families, the spokesman said.
People receiving a telephone call asking for a donation are asked to notify the Fire Department at (714) 893-0571.
