Mariners Bank in San Clemente posted net income of $157,986 for the third quarter, a 68% increase over $93,918 earned in last year’s third quarter. Revenue rose 30% to $1.3 million from $1 million last year. For the nine months, the bank reported net income of $320,549, a 44% increase over $223,182 earned in the same period last year. Revenue for the period rose 28% to $3.6 million from $2.8 million last year. With $51.8 million in assets at the end of September, 37% higher than the $37.7 million it had a year earlier, Mariners is now the largest independent bank in the crowded banking market in and around San Clemente. Total deposits rose 39% to $48.4 million at the end of the period from $34.9 million a year earlier, while total loans grew 39% to $31.4 million this year from $22.6 million last year.
