Actress Robin Givens said she will grant heavyweight champion Mike Tyson a divorce and not seek any money from her husband of 8 months.
“I will not seek nor accept any money for myself. I never wanted anything but to protect Michael,” Givens said in a statement issued by her lawyer, Raoul Felder, at a Manhattan news conference.
Givens, who filed for divorce from Tyson Oct. 7, said: “I never married Michael for money. Therefore this represents no loss for me other than the loss of losing my husband.”
Felder, in response to questions, said Givens will not claim any property, as well as any money, for anyone else, as well as for herself.
Tyson was traveling and could not be reached for comment.
