Fire Kills 42 Show Horses; Barn’s Wiring Suspected

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Officials investigating a stable fire in which 42 show horses were killed said Sunday their probe is centering on possible faulty electrical wiring.
The fire Saturday gutted the stable at the Midway Exposition Center. The 42 horses, valued at more than $1 million, were being housed at the barn for a national equestrian show.
