Bill Chupil, a self-admitted basketball junkie from Columbus, Ohio, confirmed he is named in 5 of 18 allegations of National Collegiate Athletic Assn. rules violations facing the University of Kentucky men’s basketball program, the Lexington Herald-Leader said.
The allegations center on Lawrence Funderburke, a Columbus high school prospect befriended by Chupil, a Kentucky graduate. The NCAA charges that Chupil acted as a Kentucky recruiting representative, a charge Chupil denies.
Chupil said he had not done anything more for Kentucky than he had for other schools.
