Singer-dancer Ben Vereen has been named national spokesperson of the bipartisan campaign for “Drug Free America.” Vereen, who is in the process of starting a youth rehabilitation center, has been speaking at junior high schools, advising students of the dangers in drinking, drugs and gang involvement. Vereen’s involvement stems from an auto accident last year that killed his daughter, Naja, when a truck rolled over onto the car her mother was driving.
