Edison’s Angelovic Out With Broken Thumb

Quarterback Greg Angelovic of Edison High School will be out 3 to 6 weeks with a broken thumb on his left hand, Charger Coach Dave White said Monday.
Angelovic, a senior, was injured on the final drive of Edison’s 28-21 loss to Fountain Valley Friday night.
“In 3 weeks, the cast will be taken off and the thumb will be evaluated,” White said. “Greg can either start working out again or they will put the cast back on. Hopefully, we’ll have him back for the playoffs, if we make the playoffs.”
Angelovic has completed 83 of 153 passes for 939 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 423 yards.
Junior Donnie Smith will replace Angelovic. Smith was the starting quarterback on a 10-0 sophomore team last season, but has played only 1 down this year on the varsity.
“Donnie is a good quarterback, he just needs some experience,” White said. “He’s going to get some quick.”
