The Justice Department formally announced that it declined to join a civil lawsuit brought by current and former Northrop employees who alleged that Northrop defrauded the Air Force on the B-2 stealth bomber program. Assistant Atty. Gen. John R. Bolton said: “There is not a sufficient basis to enter the case at this time.” The case alleges that Northrop falsely submitted a cost schedule control system, submitted false reports and mischarged on labor and sales orders.
