City Section Football : Cleveland’s Burwell Completes Rally in 21-14 Win Over El Camino Real : WEST VALLEY LEAGUE

Big plays and Sean Burwell took El Camino Real High out of playoff contention Friday night.
The Cleveland High running back scored the game-winning touchdown on a 15-yard run with 6:47 left to lead the Cavaliers to a 21-14, West Valley League win at Pierce College. Earlier, he threw a 93-yard touchdown pass to Dante Johnson in the first quarter on a halfback-option play. Burwell led all rushers with 67 yards in 9 carries.
Cleveland (5-3, 4-2) overcame a 14-6 halftime deficit. The Cavaliers tied the score in the third quarter when Pat Bryant took Lee Gatewood’s screen pass and raced 63 yards for a touchdown.
El Camino Real (2-6, 1-5), held to 108 yards, scored its touchdowns after Cleveland turnovers. Quarterback Steve Smith ran 1 yard for a score and Lejon Carr (34 yards in 11 carries) ran 3 yards for another.
