Hotel Work on Catalina Starts

Avalon Development Co. has started work on the $3.5-million, 47-room Hotel Metropole at 205 Crescent St., Avalon, on Santa Catalina Island.
Being built by Linkletter Construction Inc., Costa Mesa, the four-story brick, wood and stucco building was designed by Knitter & Associates Architects.
A May completion is planned for the hotel, following completion in 1984 of Metropole Market Place.
