SACRAMENTO — Police today found two more corpses buried in the yard of a rooming house whose landlady is suspected of killing the elderly boarders for their Social Security checks, bringing the number of bodies to seven. Investigators believe up to eight bodies may have been buried, based on the number of residents missing, Homicide Lt. Joe Enloe said.
Sgt. Bob Burns said the sixth corpse was found under a metal shed, wrapped in clothing, and the seventh under a flower bed in the front yard. Police using picks and shovels and a backhoe were digging up the rest of the yard, Burns said. (Earlier story, Page 9.)
