Runaway teen-agers in New York City have a high rate of infection with the AIDS virus, researchers reported. A study of 1,111 youths, ages 15 to 20, by the Covenant House, a youth shelter and counseling service, found nearly 7% were infected with the deadly AIDS virus. The rate is about 50 times higher than the general population and significantly higher than in other groups, said Dr. Lloyd Novick of the New York State Department of Health.
