Movie producer Lester Persky and a business...

Movie producer Lester Persky and a business associate sued Columbia Pictures Entertainment in a dispute over accounting for the distribution proceeds from a number of films they acquired from Columbia in the early 1970s. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, also alleged that Columbia violated antitrust laws in distributing the pictures. Further, the suit alleged that Columbia breached a warranty that resulted in the plaintiffs’ having a $65-million federal tax liability on the films. A Columbia spokesman in Burbank declined to comment on the suit.
