Reports have long had it that musclemen Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are feuding. They’ve certainly been combatants in the action market. And now, to heat things up, they’re both forging ahead with projects that have near-identical story lines!
Stallone will be back before the cameras in January in the tentatively titled “Maverick,” co-produced with Larry Gordon for United Artists, directed by John Flynn (“Best Seller”). Sly will play a convict trying to escape a maximum security pen--matching wits with a canny warden.
Meanwhile, over at Universal, producer James Keach is developing “Prisoner” for Schwarzenegger, written by Joel Blasberg.
You ready?
Arnie will portray a convict trying to outwit a shrewd warden and bust out of a escape-proof lockup.
