Presidential Election

Although I thought it would have been by a larger margin, I am optimistic about America with the election of Bush. The majority of the citizens did not see their life’s goals and ambitions in the Democratic agenda--housing the homeless, ending aid to the Contras, etc. Dukakis underestimated, or more likely didn’t recognize, people’s desire to be heroic. Although vicariously, perhaps, most people wake up in the morning wanting to slay dragons, not purchase “food for all” coupons.
