Out West Affordability

Regarding Dan Copp’s letter (Oct. 2), one does not have have to leave the West to find affordable housing in an uncrowded and beautiful surrounding.
The best kept secret in the West in the “banana belt” environment along the Colorado River in western Colorado. In Grand Junction, there is old-fashioned value in new and used homes that many people will find quite affordable. The area is protected from the Great Plains storms that most people associate with mile-high Colorado.
