UCLA’s Troy Aikman was named quarterback on the Walter Camp All-American football team. Also named from UCLA was defensive back Darryl Henley.
No USC players were selected.
Running backs were Barry Sanders of Oklahoma State, Anthony Thompson of Indiana and Tim Worley of Georgia. All are juniors.
Also named to the offensive team were Hart Lee Dykes, wide receiver, Oklahoma State; Troy Sadowski, tight end, Georgia; Tony Mandarich, tackle, Michigan State; Pat Tomberlin, tackle, Florida State; Anthony Phillips, guard, Oklahoma; Mark Stepnoski, guard, Pittsburgh; John Vitale, center, Michigan; and Kendall Trainor, kicker, Arkansas.
