China to Limit Tours to Forbidden City

BEIJING — China plans to limit the number of visitors to Beijing’s famed Forbidden City, one of the country’s biggest tourist attractions, to protect it from the strain of more than 11 million visitors a year.
Palace Museum officials said Monday that bricks and staircases of the courtyards of the huge palace are cracking.
