Local News in Brief : Woman, 22, Killed by Purse Snatcher

A purse snatcher stabbed a woman to death in front of her Los Feliz house as she walked home from a neighborhood grocery store, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Residents in the 2000 block of Dracena Drive heard the woman screaming about 7 p.m. Wednesday and called police, Detective Larry Clesceri said.
The 22-year-old woman was confronted by a man who hid inside a car parked in front of her house, Clesceri said. “There was an altercation. She dropped all her groceries. He apparently stabbed her and took her purse. She ran up the driveway and collapsed,” Clesceri said.
The woman’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
