SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif — Before this season, the Cal State Northridge men’s basketball team had not scored in triple figures in 70 consecutive games. But it already has surpassed that mark twice this year--and the season is only 2 games old.
CSUN rolled to a 103-63 victory over host Bethany Bible in a nonconference game Thursday. The Matadors (2-0) defeated UC Davis, 103-55, last Friday when 5 players scored in double figures. Thursday, 7 Matador players scored 10 or more points.
Todd Bowser led the onslaught with a game-high 22 points and Jemarl Baker and Derrick Gathers each added 16 points. Leroy McCullough (12 points), Sandy Brown (11), Darren Matsubara (10) and Karl Becker (10) were CSUN’s other double-figure scorers.
Andy Snelgrove led Bethany Bible with 18 points.
