North Hollywood 78, Montclair Prep 64--Dana Jones scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds to lead the Huskies (2-0) in a nonleague game.
Tommy Byrdsong had 10 points in the third quarter and finished with 16. Harry Marks drilled 3 3-point shots and finished with 19 points. Craig Handschu had 15 points for Montclair Prep.
Newbury Park 61, Saugus 45-Forward Wayne Cook scored 30 points to lead Newbury Park in a first-round game of the Nordhoff tournament. Senior Sean Legaux had 19 points for Saugus.
Westlake 68, Locke 32--Kurt Schwan had 21 points to lead Westlake in a first-round game of the St. Monica tournament.
Leuzinger 81, Hart 68--Leuzinger outscored Hart, 39-26, in the second half of a first-round El Segundo tournament game. Hart’s Brett Wilson scored 29 points.
Canyon 73, Hemet 58--Canyon took control with an 11-2 spurt at the start of the fourth period in the nonleague opener. Jon Civita had 12 rebounds and Jamil Austin added 20 points for Canyon.
Bell-Jeff 84, Lompoc 62--Despite falling behind, 14-3, Bell-Jeff rallied behind center Nick Sanderson to win a first-round game in the Morro Bay tournament. Sanderson had a game-high 22 points.
Providence 63, South Bay Lutheran--Providence, which was 1-19 last season, was led by Ben Tahouri’s 28 points in the first-round of the Orange Lutheran tournament.
Burroughs 73, Arroyo 64--Dan Murphy scored a game-high 25 points and Marnie Calderon added 16 for the Indians in the first round of the Burbank-Hoover tournament.
Village Christian 74, Oak Park 64--Scott Danielson led Village Christian with 24 points in a nonleague opener.
Holy Martyrs 64, Valley Torah 46--Armand Dorian scored 13 points and pulled down 19 rebounds for Holy Martyrs.
