High School Roundup : Granada Hills’ Portnoy Reaches Singles Final in City Girls’ Tennis

Granada Hills High senior Alisha Portnoy defeated Julie Oshiro of Gardena, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3, in the semifinal round of the City Section individual girls’ tennis championships at the Racquet Centre in Studio City on Friday.
Portnoy advances to the final Monday at 2 p.m. at the Racquet Centre.
In doubles play, Holly Levin and Michelle Norian of Palisades defeated Laura Nitz and Jenny Nussbaum of Taft, 7-5, 6-3.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Alemany 4, Quartz Hill 0--Johnny Walker scored 2 goals and goalie Brian Hoover recorded his first shutout in a nonleague match for host Alemany (2-1).
Chaminade 1, Crespi 0--Steven Roberts scored with 20 minutes to play to lead Chaminade (3-1) in a nonleague match at home.
